If it wasn’t for the silent consonant at the start of the word psoriasis there wouldn’t be so many people being confused with it and syphilis. But even with that and a somewhat-the-same suffix it’s still hard to see why people would be getting these two confused with each other. One of them you’ll get simply because of rotten luck with your genetics, while the other you’ll get because of being far too careless with your sexual proclivities. That’s where we’ll start with psoriasis vs syphilis – one’s an inflammatory skin disorder and the other is an STD.  

Men and women will have a few different body parts, but they do share most of them and everyone is going to have knees, elbows, trunks, and scalps. It’s not like things are necessarily rosier for people with syphilis, as if it is left untreated people can become sterile / impotent or even become paralyzed or go blind. Syphilis can also increase your chances of getting HIV, and that is something that should resonate loudly with some people based on their sexual preferences too.
