Life tends to be inflexible about being in reasonably good health if you’re going to participate in it to the fullest. A lot of people need to turn to medical professionals and / or prescription meds to get help with any medical condition they have that puts them at risk of having less-than-ideal health. Thankfully that all comes in under the umbrella of health insurance, but some people may not have it or their medication isn’t covered under Medicare Part D. This doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll go to temporary health care insurance though.

Temporary health insurance is usually purchased by people who are travelling or those who need coverage because of being in at an incidental time in their life when something is causing them to want to get health insurance. But if that need is to have insurance coverage for prescription drugs then it’s very likely the person can get the price reduction they need through one of the Medicare Part D health plans. Or choosing generic medication is another good option, and generic medications has the same efficacy as branded. 

That’s not always the best fix for having to face the prospect of paying for common expensive Rx drugs, 10 of which will be discounted under Medicare starting in 2026. Among these ones are Januvia and Jardiance for diabetes, and Enbrel for rheumatoid arthritis treatment. Those lower prices are nice to see and especially if you’re taking any of those medications but ordering medication online from Canada is probably going to still be preferable to temporary health care insurance. Especially prices on diabetes medications.

It’s possible that Rx meds may have nothing to do with getting health insurance for temporary needs, and as we said earlier most of the time people will search for temporary health care insurance it’s going to be because they’re leaving the country and they want to make sure they have the level of coverage they need in case they get really ill or have an unforeseen accident. Both of those things can definitely happen when you are on vacation and oftentimes there’s not much you can do to avoid them happening.  

There can be any number of scenarios like that where a person may need to start on a medication immediately and this can create a need for temporary health care insurance. But if that medication use is related to a more chronic condition then we strongly recommend getting your prescription filled in Canada and with our pharmacy.
