What is a Generic Drug?

Description

Aklief is a prescription acne medication used for teenagers acne treatment and able to be effective for both acne vulgaris and inflammatory acne. This acne solution is equally effective for the face, shoulders, chest, or back based on where the young person has acne resulting from overactive sebaceous glands that become this way as a young person passes through early puberty. Trifarotene is a retinoid molecule that helps skin with faster replacement of old skin cells while also exfoliating away old cells and limiting new acne blemishes forming.

Directions

For topical use on skin only. Keep cream away from eyes, lips, paranasal creases, or mucous membranes.

Apply a thin layer Aklief cream to affected areas once daily on clean, dry skin.

It is best to apply cream in the evening before bed.

Volume of cream applied will vary with body part being treated. Read instruction in pamphlet for more on what standard application guidelines apply for treatment area of body.

Using a moisturizer is recommended while using Aklief cream.

Cautions

For use with ages 9 and up only.

Skin with cuts or abrasions, eczematous, or sunburnt skin should not be treated with this acne reduction cream.

Exposure to sunlight and sunlamps should be limited. Use sunscreen and protective clothing to cover treated skin in instances where skin will have direct, strong sunlight exposure.

Using a wax or use any type of depilatory hair removal product on skin while treating with Aklief cream is inadvisable.

Interactions

No established drug interactions risks associated with using Aklief for acne treatment have been established, but it is still wise to discuss any other facial skincare products you may be using with the pharmacist before you buy Aklief acne cream.

Side Effects

Possible side effects from using Aklief cream include localized skin irritation with redness, scaling, dryness, or stinging / burning. If side effects are seen it may be best to discontinue use and speak to your doctor about acne treatment for teens options.
