What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

Directions

Open the tray on your Anoro Elipta inhaler by peeling the lid back. Fully open the cover of the inhaler until you hear a clicking sound and see the number on the counter on the front of the inhaler go down by 1. (Inhaler will come with 30 doses).

Each time you open the cover, 1 dose of medicine is prepared.

  • Be careful to not open and close the cover without inhaling the medicine. This will mean you lose the dose. Do not open the cover of the unit until you are ready to use the inhaler.
  • After loading your dose place the mouthpiece in your mouth and take a long, steady, deep breath in through your mouth. Do not breathe in through your nose.
  • Remove the inhaler from your mouth and hold your breath for about 3 to 4 seconds. Now breathe out slowly and gently.

Do not take another dose from the inhaler. You can never take more than one dose at a time.

Ingredients

Interactions

Be aware of interaction risks between Anoro Elipta and certain Rx medications that contain a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) or an anticholinergic for any reason. You are advised to inform your physician of all medications you are currently taking when you have an initial doctor consultation regarding COPD inhalers and before you buy Anoro Elipta.

Side Effects

Side effects from an Anoro Elipta dose are rare for most users, but some may experience chest pain, increased blood pressure, fast or irregular heartbeat, headache, tremor, or nervousness.
