What is a Generic Drug?

Directions

  • You can take Avelox with or without food.
  • You should separate Avelox by 4 hours before or 8 hours after any of the following products:
    • Antacids
    • Sucralfate
    • Aluminum
    • Magnesium
    • Multivitamins
    • Iron
    • Zinc
  • Drink plenty of water with your dose.
  • You should complete your entire prescription, even if you stop feeling sick.
  • The usual dosing instruction for Avelox is:
    • Take 400mg by mouth once per day.
    • Your doctor will determine how long your treatment should be.

Ingredients

  • The active ingredient in Avelox is moxifloxacin hydrochloride. You can find a full list of inactive ingredients in the package insert.

Cautions

  • Do not take Avelox if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of tendon disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis.
