Campral comes in 333 mg enteric-coated tablets.
Campral Dosage:
The typical dose is to take two 333 mg tablets (666 mg total) by mouth three times daily.
Patients with moderate kidney problems may require an adjusted dose.
Acamprosate calcium is the active ingredient contained in each Campral tablet. Crospovidone, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium silicate, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, talc, propylene glycol, and Eudragit® L 30 D or equivalent are the inactive ingredients included. Traces of sulfites may be contained in the medication due to the use of sulfites in the medication synthesis.
If you have an allergy to acamprosate calcium or any of its ingredients, avoid taking Campral.
Patients with severe kidney problems should not take Campral.
Accidental injury, lack of energy, pain, anorexia, diarrhea, gas, nausea, anxiety, depression, dizziness, dry mouth, trouble sleeping, tingling or prickling sensation, itchiness, and sweating are some of the most common Campral side effects.
Immediately tell your doctor if you develop any side effects that bother you or will not go away.
