Emflaza should be taken as your doctor has instructed. Read the medication guide that comes with your prescription if you would like additional instructions for use.
Your doctor will determine an appropriate dose for you depending on how much you weigh. It is taken once daily. If you have been taking Emflaza for more than a few days, your doctor will gradually decrease your dose.
Store Emflaza out of reach of children and at temperatures between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F).

Deflazacort, a corticosteroid, is the active ingredient in Emflaza.
Colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, and pregelatinized corn starch are the inactive ingredients included in the tablet.
Acetic acid, aluminum magnesium silicate, benzyl alcohol, carboxymethylcellulose sodium, polysorbate 80, purified water, and sorbitol are the inactive ingredients included in the oral suspension.
Emflaza should not be given to patients who are allergic to any of its ingredients.
Side effects of Emflaza include but are not limited to Cushingoid appearance, weight gain, increased appetite, cough, upper respiratory tract infection, daytime urinary frequency, excessive hair growth, abdominal obesity, and common cold.
