A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.
Hand sanitizer is great stuff with the way it provides quick, effective, and thorough sanitizing of the hands and fingers with a small squirt and then a few vigorous wringing of the hands. As well all know, that’s especially important right now given the risk of infection with the Coronavirus. We’re far from being ‘out of the woods’, as the expression goes, with this virus pandemic and sanitizing your hands frequently is a good idea these days. The alcohol in hand sanitizer is hard on the skin and will dry it out, but that’s not the case with EO hand sanitizer.
What makes EO hand sanitizer a better choice for people with sensitive skin or skin that is more prone to becoming dry is that it’s made from natural alcohol derived from sugar cane and freshly scented with pure essential oils. However, don’t think this makes it any less effective than conventional hand sanitizers than are made from isopropyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, or n-propanol. EO hand sanitizer kills up to 99% of germs and viruses immediately on contact the same way they do.
That’s going to be especially good news for anyone who’s going to prefer to use a natural hand sanitizer, and especially given the way most of us have to sanitize our hands so much more often every day now. It will also appeal to people who don’t have a propensity for dry skin but still prefer to use organic products as much as necessary and will feel the same way about a natural hand sanitizer.
If you’re able to stay at home the majority of the time these days then you’re fortunate in that regard. For many of us, however, we still need to be out and about at least some of the time. That means the need to touch surfaces that will have been touched by many others before us, and many of those surfaces will have not been sanitized before you touch them.
Now the reason this is problematic is because one of the primary ways you can get Coronavirus is by touching surfaces with the virus on it and then touching your face. And if you think you don’t do that often - think again. It’s been shown that people touch their face a couple of thousand times a day on average, and doing so increases the chance that you introduce the virus to your mouth, nose, or eyes.
So instead of going against natural human instinct and being obsessed with not touching your face, keep a dispenser of EO hand sanitizer with you and be sure to use it after each time you touch surfaces you know may be unclean.
Here’s a number of the most common examples of where the risk will be most pronounced, and where using a natural hand sanitizer to disinfect your hands will be best:
• Door handles
• Elevator buttons
• ATM machines
• Debit and credit machines in stores
• Gas station pumps
• Soap dispensers in public washrooms
There are many different hand sanitizers available for consumers, but if you have sensitive skin and / or are more inclined to choose organic products when possible then EO hand sanitizer will be the best choice for you.
