Euflexxa (1% sodium hyaluronate) is an injectable medication used to treat pain due to osteoarthritis of the knee in patients who have failed non-pharmacological treatments or simple pain medications such as acetaminophen.
Euflexxa comes in prefilled syringes; the medication is injected into the knee.
Euflexxa should be administered as your doctor has instructed. Any questions or concerns may be referred to your doctor.
Euflexxa will be administered by your doctor or another qualified healthcare provider. Euflexxa is usually given once a week, for a total of 3 injections.
Sodium hyaluronate, sodium chloride, disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, and Water for injection is contained in each syringe.
Patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients in Euflexxa or patients who have knee joint infections, infections in the area of the injection site, or skin disorders in the area of the injection site should not receive the medication.
Joint pain, musculoskeletal pain, back pain, joint swelling, and pain in the legs or arms are the most common Euflexxa side effects. However, other side effects may also occur. Immediately inform your doctor of any bothersome or persistent side effects.
