The medication is supplied as frovatriptan 2.5 mg oral tablets. It should be taken upon experiencing the first warning symptoms of migraine headaches. Take FROVA medication with a full glass of water. If the first dose does not provide relief, a second dose can be taken 2 hours later. The maximum daily dose of frovatriptan is 7.5 mg.
Tolerance to frovatriptan can build quickly, so the medication should not be taken daily and usage should be spread out as much as possible.

Excessive serotonin exposure can cause a life-threatening condition called serotonin syndrome, which presents with altered mental status, rapid heart rate, confusion, tremor, loss of muscle coordination, and other autonomic instabilities. Some over-the-counter (OTC) medications can contribute to this interaction by increasing serotonin. Talk to your physician or pharmacist before starting any new medications while taking FROVA medication.
