What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

Description

Hand sanitizer has never been a hotter commodity than it is right now with the global Coronavirus situation. It’s natural that folks are going to be more concerned than ever about whether or not the surfaces they are touching might have the virus on them. The reality is that it’s not possible to avoid touching all of these surfaces all the time. So the best response is to keep a product like Germ X hand sanitizer with you to quickly, easily, and effectively disinfect your hands and fingers.

All of that is quite important these days, as people are able to contract the coronavirus in a number of ways. The reasons people wear protective face masks and / or protective eye coverings is to prevent them from inhaling the virus molecules if they are near someone who is a carrier.

Now of course using Germ X hand sanitizer won’t do anything to guard you against Coronavirus in this way, but it will be supremely effective for protection against the other primary way you can get Coronavirus - touching surfaces that have the virus on them and then touching your face or putting your fingers in your mouth. Another risk factor would be eating foods like sandwiches where you use your hands to hold the food.

It’s easier to understand the extent of this risk factor when you consider that human coronaviruses can live on surfaces for up to 9 days! That is a maximum and whether they can last that long depends on the type of surface and surrounding temperature, but it really does highlight the risk and why using a product like Germ X hand sanitizer is such a smart choice.

Sanitize and Go

Fortunately, you can buy Germ X hand sanitizer at most drug stores, pharmacies, or supermarkets. It is based on the same formula that all instant sanitizer gels or wipes are - a very high alcohol content of 60-65% and usually isopropyl alcohol, ethanol (ethyl alcohol) or n-propanol.

When introduced to germs and viruses, the alcohol kills them nearly immediately. The good thing about Germ X hand sanitizer is a small quantity of the gel is all you need to carry on with your day without worries about accidentally transmitting the virus molecules to yourself.

Consider all the common everyday interactions you may be having these days that put you at risk this way. Handling door handles is probably the biggest of them, and so is when you use the pump at the gas station or press a button in an elevator. Keep in mind as well that items in stores may be contaminated too, and cleaning your hands with sanitizer after using ATMs is obviously something you should always do.

Just a few examples of the instances where you’ll be wise to have some Germ X foaming hand sanitizer with you. One can’t be too careful these days, and especially if you or anyone in your home has existing health conditions that increase the health risk posed by a Coronavirus infection. Stay safe everyone.
