What is a Generic Drug?

Cautions

  • Hadlima is associated with the the following FDA Boxed Warning:

SERIOUS INFECTIONS: Increased risk of tuberculosis (TB), bacterial sepsis, invasive

fungal infections, infections caused by opportunistic

pathogens, and other serious infections resulting in

hospitalization or death.

If a patient develops a serious infection or sepsis while receiving Hadlima, the medication should be stopped.

A latent TB test should be performed and TB treatment should be started prior to starting Hadlima if the latent test result is positive.

All patients should be monitored for active TB during treatment, even if the initial latent TB test is negative.

MALIGNANCY: Children and adolescents treated with TNF blockers including

adalimumab products have developed lymphoma and other

malignancies, some of which have been fatal.

Adolescents and young adults with inflammatory bowel disease treated with TNF blockers including adalimumab products have developed hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma (HSTCL) during post-marketing cases.

  • Before you or your child starts Hadlima treatment, discuss the following with the treating physician:
    • All the medications you or your child takes, including prescription and nonprescription medications
    • Your or your child’s allergies
    • Your or your child’s existing health conditions
    • Your or your child’s and previous medical history
    • If you or your child is pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Hadlima is associated with the following warnings and precautions:
    • Serious infections
    • Invasive fungal infections
    • Malignancies
    • Anaphylaxis or other serious hypersensitivity reactions
    • Reactivation of hepatitis B virus
    • Demyelinating disease
    • Cytopenias and pancytopenia (low blood cell counts)
    • Heart failure that is new or worsens
    • Lupus-like syndrome

Side Effects

Hadlima side effects include but are not limited to infections, reactions at the injection site, rash, and headache.

Immediately notify the doctor if you or your child has bothersome or persistent side effects.
