Contraindications

Kwellada-P Lotion should not be used by patients who have an allergy to permethrin or any of the lotion’s other ingredients, synthetic pyrethroid or pyrethrins, or chrysanthemums.

  • Before you begin using Kwellada-P Lotion for scabies, tell your doctor about:
    • All the cosmetics, topical products, and medications you use, including prescription and nonprescription medications
    • Your allergies
    • Your current health conditions
    • Your past medical history
    • Your status of pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Kwellada-P Lotion is associated with the following warnings and precautions:
    • If the lotion is accidentally swallowed, immediately contact your doctor or a poison control center.
    • If the lotion gets in your eyes, rinse with clear water right away.
    • The lotion may make the symptoms of scabies infestation (itching, redness, and swelling) temporarily worse due to the eggs and fecal pellets that may be left behind in your skin. Repeating treatment is not necessary. Treatment may be repeated only if you see live mites on your skin or new skin lesions. Contact your doctor if itching lasts for more than 4 weeks.
    • The safety and efficacy of Kwellada-P Lotion has not been determined in children younger than 2 years of age.
    • Additional side effects may occur in patients older than 70 years of age due to absorption of the medication through the skin.
