Metacam chewable tablets are convenient, available in 1 mg and 2.5 mg strengths. These tablets correspond to the maintenance doses for dogs weighing 10 kg and 25 kg, respectively.

Metacam, like other NSAIDs, may cause side effects such as vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and lethargy. In some cases, there may be blood in the stool, indicating gastrointestinal irritation. These side effects usually occur within the first week of treatment and often go away after discontinuing the medication.
Rare but serious side effects include gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding, or elevated liver enzymes. Signs such as bloody vomit, dark stools, or signs of kidney problems can be life-threatening. If you notice any severe reactions, stop giving Metacam and contact your veterinarian immediately for advice.
