Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Norliqva FDA approval
Norliqva (amlodipine) is a prescription oral solution for the treatment of high blood pressure in adults and children who are at least 6 years of age.
Norliqva may also be prescribed for treating coronary artery disease (chronic stable angina, vasospastic angina [Prinzmetal’s or Variant Angina], angiographically documented coronary artery disease in patients without heart failure or an ejection fraction <40%).
Norliqva is dispensed in a 1 mg/mL solution for oral administration.
Norliqva should be administered exactly as the treating physician has instructed.
Recommended starting dosage for adults: 5 mg orally once daily; maximum 10 mg orally daily. Small, fragile, or elderly adults, or adults with liver impairment may be started on 2.5 mg orally once daily
Recommended starting dosage for pediatrics: 2.5 mg to 5 mg orally once daily
Store Norliqva between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F).

Butylated hydroxyanisole, ethanol, glycerin, maltitol, and peppermint flavor are the inactive ingredients; 4% v/v alcohol are also included.

Norliqva side effects include but are not limited to edema (swelling), dizziness, flushing and palpitations.
