What is a Generic Drug?

Plenity weight loss should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Notify your doctor or pharmacist of any questions or concerns you have about the medication.

Recommended dosing: 3 capsules by mouth with water two times a day, 20-30 minutes before lunch and dinner. Two or more glasses of water should be consumed after taking the medication.

If the pod or package is damaged or if the capsules are broken or crushed, do not use.

Ingredients

Superabsorbent hydrogel particles that fully hydrate and take up about 25% of average stomach volume are contained in Plenity. Upon food consumption, a larger volume is created with higher elasticity and viscosity in the stomach and small intestine. This makes you feel full and satisfied.

Contraindications

Plenity should be avoided in women who are pregnant. It should also be avoided in patients who have ever experienced an allergic reaction to cellulose, citric acid, sodium stearyl fumarate, gelatin, or titanium dioxide.

Cautions

  • Before you begin treatment with Plenity, inform your doctor of the following:
    • All the prescription and nonprescription medications you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medications
    • Your allergies
    • Your current health conditions
    • Your past medical history
    • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Caution should be exercised in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), ulcers, or heartburn.
  • Plenity is not recommended in patients with complications from a previous gastrointestinal (GI) surgery or with suspected strictures or esophageal anatomic anomalies such as webs, rings, and diverticula. Plenity can affect GI function.
  • Plenity has no nutritional or caloric value; therefore, it should not be used as a food substitute.

Side Effects

Abdominal swelling, abdominal pain, bloating, irregular bowel movements, bowel changes, constipation, cramping, diarrhea, indigestion, trouble swallowing, belching, flatulence, GERD, and vomiting are possible Plenity side effects.
