Terms & Conditions of Program
A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.
Ragwitek is a prescription medicine used for sublingual (under the tongue) immunotherapy to treat short ragweed pollen allergies. As an allergen extract made from short ragweed pollen (Ambrosia artemisiifolia), Ragwitek targets the root cause of allergy symptoms related to ragweed, such as runny nose and itchy eyes, whether or not eye inflammation is present. It works by gradually increasing the body's tolerance to the allergen, helping to reduce the severity of symptoms caused by short ragweed pollen.
The standard dosage of Ragwitek is one tablet taken once daily. The tablet is placed under the tongue and allowed to dissolve in the mouth. Do not swallow for at least 1 minute to let the tablet dissolve completely.
Begin taking Ragwitek at least 12 weeks before the expected onset of the ragweed pollen season, and continue daily throughout the pollen season. Take the first dose in a clinic or hospital setting to monitor for any signs or symptoms of a severe allergic reaction for at least 30 minutes. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule and consult with a healthcare professional if any concerns or questions arise while undergoing treatment. Ragwitek is not intended to provide immediate relief from allergy symptoms, but rather helps your body develop immunity over time.
