Selexid should be taken as your doctor has directed. Any questions or concerns may be referred to your doctor or pharmacist.

Your doctor will tell you how much Selexid you should take and for how long. The tablets should be swallowed whole while sitting or standing and taken with food or right after a meal and with at least half a glass of fluid.

You should finish all the medication, even if you start to feel better.

Ingredients

The penicillin pivmecillinam hydrochloride is the active ingredient in Selexid. Cellulose microcrystalline, hydroxypropyl cellulose, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, simethicone and synthetic paraffin are the inactive ingredients.

Contraindications

Patients who are allergic to pivmecillinam hydrochloride, penicillin, or cephalosporins should avoid taking Selexid.

In addition, patients with a condition that narrows their food pipe or decreases carnitine levels in the body should avoid taking Selexid.

  • Before you begin taking Selexid 200 mg tablets, inform your doctor of:

Side Effects
