What is a Generic Drug?

Description

Tribenzor is combined with olmesartan medoxomil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB), and hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, for the treatment of high blood pressure.

Tribenzor's generic name is Olmesartan medoxomil, Amlodipine, Hydrochlorothiazide.

The Tribenzor dosage for oral tablets is sold in the following strengths (olmesartan medoxomil/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide): 

20 mg/5 mg/12.5 mg, 40 mg/5 mg/12.5 mg, 40 mg/5 mg/25 mg, 40 mg/10 mg/12.5 mg, 40 mg/10 mg/25 mg

Once you are prescribed and buy Tribenzor, Tribenzor is dosed once daily.

Ingredients

Each Tribenzor tablet contains the following active ingredients: Olmesartan medoxomil, Amlodipine besylate, and Hydrochlorothiazide.

Contraindications

You should not take Tribenzor if you produce less urine than normal or if you cannot urinate.

You should not take Tribenzor if you are allergic to olmesartan, amlodipine, hydrochlorothiazide, or any of the other ingredients and excipients in Tribenzor.

You should not take Tribenzor if you have a sulfonamide allergy.

You should not take Tribenzor if you have not taken any other blood pressure medications before.

Cautions

When pregnancy is detected, discontinue Tribenzor as soon as possible.

Drugs that act directly on the renin-angiotensin system can cause injury and death to the developing fetus.

  • Before taking Tribenzor, let your doctor know if you are pregnant, think you are pregnant, or plan to become pregnant. Tribenzor can cause injury or death to the fetus.
  • Before taking Tribenzor, let your doctor know if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not recommended to breastfeed while being treated with Tribenzor.
  • Tribenzor is not right for everyone. Before taking Tribenzor, let your doctor if you have any of the following health conditions:
  • Before taking Tribenzor, tell your doctor about all the medications, vitamins, and supplements that you take. Tribenzor may interact with certain medications and can cause reactions.
  • Tribenzor can increase your risk for low blood pressure. You should not drink alcohol with Tribenzor as it can lower your blood pressure. 

Side Effects

Tribenzor may cause side effects. If you have side effects that won't go away or become bothersome, contact your doctor right away. The most common Tribenzor side effects include:

  • Diarrhea
  • Dizziness
  • Tiredness
  • Low blood pressure
  • Joint swelling
  • Muscle spasms
  • Nausea
  • Nasopharyngitis
  • Upper respiratory infections
  • Urinary tract infection
