Terms & Conditions of Program
A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.
Vesanoid, which is also called Tretinoin, is a medication used mainly to treat a type of cancer known as acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). It belongs to a group of drugs called retinoids, which are related to vitamin A. Tretinoin works by helping immature blood cells in APL mature properly so they can function like healthy cells again. This medicine is available in the form of a 10 mg soft gelatin capsule that you take by mouth.

The recommended dosage of Vesanoid (Tretinoin) is 22.5 mg for every square meter of your body, taken by mouth twice a day until you achieve complete remission or for a maximum of 90 days. Swallow the capsules whole with a full glass of water and try to take them at the same time each day. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it’s almost time for your next dose; in that case, skip the missed dose.
The active ingredient in Tretinoin is Vesanoid.
Avoid using this medication if you have a history of allergic reactions to Tretinoin, any of its components, or other retinoids.
Vesanoid may cause side effects like headaches, fever, bone pain, and general feelings of discomfort. People may also experience dryness of skin and mucous membranes, respiratory symptoms such as difficulty breathing, and gastrointestinal problems including nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. These effects are typically related to the body’s reaction to the medication.
More severe reactions can occur with Vesanoid, including differentiation syndrome characterized by fever and difficulty breathing, and leukocytosis, which is an increase in white blood cell count. Patients may also experience intracranial high blood pressure, significant liver issues, and thromboembolic events such as blood clots. If you experience intense pain, severe stomach pain, or sudden changes in mental state, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
