Terms & Conditions of Program
A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.
VIGAMOX eye drops contain the active ingredient moxifloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent. Fluoroquinolones bind to topoisomerase II in bacterial cells, which is an enzyme critical to replication and repair of bacterial DNA. Topoisomerase II unwinds DNA to prepare it for replication and repair, and by blocking this process, moxifloxacin prevents bacterial replication and growth.
VIGAMOX eye drops are prescribed for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis, a bacterial infection on the conjunctiva tissue of the eye. Symptoms may include burning and irritation, discharge (watery or mucosal), impaired vision, itchiness, redness, tearing, and light sensitivity. Bacterial conjunctivitis may be present in one or both eyes.
Instill one drop into the affected eye 3 times daily for 7 seven. Use Vigamox 0.5% for the full 7-day course, and do not stop because symptoms are improving, since stopping before the end of the course may increase bacterial resistance.
The active ingredient of VIGAMOX eye drops is moxifloxacin hydrochloride.
Inactive ingredients include boric acid, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide (for pH balance), hydrochloride acid (for pH balance), and water.
You should not use VIGAMOX eye drops for longer than prescribed by your physician, as doing so may increase bacterial resistance. Finish the full 7-day course of VIGAMOX eye drops, even if symptoms are resolving as this can contribute to bacterial resistance.
Do not touch the tip of the dropper to the eye, surrounding tissue, or other nonsterile surfaces as this may contaminate the product.
Patients should avoid wearing contact lenses while using VIGAMOX eye drops.

Moxifloxacin drops can be purchased online at Canada Drugs Direct with a prescription. Physician monitoring is required throughout the course of treatment to ensure that symptoms resolve appropriately.
