Zaroxolyn Dose
High blood pressure: Take 2.5 mg to 5 mg by mouth one time a day, up to 20 mg daily.
Fluid retention: Take 2.5 mg to 10 mg by mouth one time a day, up to 20 mg daily.
A lower dose may be required in older patients.
Metolazone is the active ingredient contained in Zaroxolyn.
Do not take Zaroxolyn if you are:
Zaroxolyn should not be given to patients in a hepatic coma or precoma.
Chest pain, depression, dizziness, drowsiness, electrolyte imbalances, glucose in the urine, gout attacks, headache, liver problems, high uric acid levels, joint pain, nerve pain, low blood pressure, pancreatitis, serious skin problems, fainting, and volume depletion are some Zaroxolyn side effects; however, these are not the only side effects that may occur. Contact your doctor if you experience side effects that bother you or won't go away.
