Terms & Conditions of Program
A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.
Zeposia (Ozanimod) is a sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor modulator, which means it acts on specific receptors in the immune system to regulate its functions. Zeposia uses include the management of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS), including clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing-remitting disease, and active secondary progressive disease in adults. Zeposia may also be used to treat moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis.

When taking Zeposia, patients should follow their healthcare provider's instructions. Typically, the patient starts with a lower dose and gradually increases to the full maintenance dose over a week's time, known as a titration period, to reduce the risk of heart-related side effects. Zeposia comes in a pill form and is taken once daily, with or without food. Always consult a healthcare provider for the appropriate dosage for treatment.
Zeposia's active ingredient is Ozanimod.
Avoid taking or using this medication if any of the following apply:
Zeposia may cause cold-like symptoms, dizziness when standing, back pain, headaches, liver enzyme increases, urinary discomfort, and high blood pressure. Serious Zeposia side effects include liver problems, which may require regular liver function tests. Symptoms to watch for include nausea, yellow skin or eyes, and abdominal pain.
Other serious risks include elevated blood pressure, trouble breathing, and vision problems such as macular edema. PRES, a rare brain condition, could occur, potentially leading to stroke if not managed. Consult a healthcare provider if any serious side effects develop, persist, or worsen.
