Zinecard (dexrazoxane) is a medication administered via an intravenous infusion to reduce the incidence and severity of cardiomyopathy associated with doxorubicin in women with breast cancer that has spread and who received a total doxorubicin dose of 300 mg/m2 and will continue doxorubicin for maintaining tumor control.
Zinecard dosing will be determined by the treating physician. Zinecard intravenous infusion will be administered by a qualified healthcare provider; the infusion runs for 15 minutes.
Zinecard should not be given via an intravenous push.
