Directions

The recommended Zykadia dosing is to take 450 mg by mouth one time a day with food.

Store Zykadia at room temperature between 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C) and away from children’s reach.

Ingredients

Ceritinib is the active ingredient in Zykadia.

Colloidal silicon dioxide, hard gelatin capsule shells, low substituted hydroxypropyl cellulose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, FD&C Blue # 2, gelatin, and titanium dioxide are the inactive ingredients in the 150 mg capsules.

Colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, low-substituted hydroxypropyl cellulose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, FD&C Blue # 2 aluminum lake, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol 4000, talc, and titanium dioxide are the inactive ingredients in the 150 mg tablets.

According to the most recent Prescribing Information, there are no contraindications to Zykadia.

Cautions

  • Before you start treatment with Zykadia, inform your healthcare provider:
    • Of all the medications you take, including prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, herbals, and supplements
    • Of your allergies
    • Of your current health problems
    • Of your past medical history
    • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • The following may occur during Zykadia treatment:
    • Gastrointestinal adverse reactions
    • Liver issues
    • Lung issues
    • Irregular heart rhythm (QT prolongation)
    • High blood sugar levels
    • Slow heart rate
    • Pancreatitis
    • Harm to a fetus. Females of childbearing potential should be advised to use effective contraceptive methods during Zykadia treatment and for 6 months after receiving the final dose. Males with female partners who are of childbearing potential should be advised to use condoms during Zykadia treatment and for 3 months after the final dose.

Side Effects

Zykadia side effects include but are not limited to diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, fatigue, decreased appetite, and weight loss. Contact your healthcare provider right away if you experience bothersome or persistent side effects.
